The song is "Ku'u Pua I Paoakalani" by Queen Lili'uokalani, who composed the piece whilst imprisoned in her own home at Iolani Palace several years prior to annexation. The song is about the flowers in her garden in Waikiki. During her imprisonment, the illegal occupiers denied the Queen access to news reporting on her own kingdom. Supporters of the Queen circumvented this restriction by delivering flowers from her garden wrapped in newspaper. #StateOfEmergence
